FINDING HOPE IN REAL WORLD LIVING
“POWERFUL" “CHALLENGING” “REAL” "DYNAMIC"
These are just some of the words used to describe the ministry of Renee Coates Scheidt. Forced to walk through some of life's most difficult circumstances, Renee knows what it is to hit rock bottom. Yet in the midst of great tragedy, she has also discovered the faithfulness of a loving heavenly Father who rebuilds ruined lives and restores broken souls to find life can be worth living once more.
In 1987, as a young wife and mother of two babies, Renee journeyed through great tragedy when her pastor-husband of ten years lost his battle with Bi-Polar Disorder and died by suicide. Left alone to raise their two baby girls under age three, she learned as never before to call upon the name of Lord when life seemed humanly unbearable.
Years later, Renee once again found her world turned upside down. After nine years as a single parent, she remarried. Her Christian husband of almost twenty years blindsided her when he confessed to having two affairs. In spite of her offers of forgiveness, he walked out and filed for divorce. At age fifty nine, Renee found herself deceived, betrayed and abandoned as she wondered, “Now what do I do?”
These tragedies forced Renee to deal with real life issues faced by many today ---depression, suicide, single again, single parenting, financial difficulties, seemingly unanswered prayers, adultery, divorce, remarriage, blended families. Greater still however , the hardest issue she had to confront went to the very core of her being. “Where is God in the midst of all this disaster? If He's so good, why is my life so bad?”
The result of these intense struggles has resulted in an authenticity, wisdom, and encouragement only found in those who have “been there.” The reality of God's faithfulness, the truth of His promises and greatest of His love have enabled Renee to rise from the ashes of a broken life with a zeal to inspire and equip others. Best of all, she now experiences the joy of His presence as never before.
Renee received a B.A. degree in Biblical Education and Music from Florida Bible College and earned a Master’s Degree in Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She has served as music minister for churches in Florida, Louisiana and North Carolina. As an accomplished singer, writer and speaker, she has recorded two albums, authored three books, written numerous magazine articles and hosted her own half hour television program,” Hearts of Hope”, for five years on Charlotte station WAXN.
Renee's open and honest approach to "deal with the real" has endeared her to numerous audiences. With a strong grasp of Scripture, firsthand experience, and a little Southern wit and charm, you will find Renee uniquely qualified to minister in a multitude of settings. Conferences, seminars, retreats, banquets, and special church services are venues to consider. Call her at 704-305-0275 to tailor design a ministry event for your group.
